Our Board members volunteer their time to guide Abode Services' direction and ensure we work to fulfill our mission as effectively as possible. They represent various sectors of our community, including government, business, and non-profits, and offer a wide breadth of expertise to help us develop our programs and vision.

Theresa Ballard Dias - President 

Principal, Struthers Dias Architects, Inc.
Ms. Dias brings with her a background in affordable multi-family housing development in the East Bay. She is a founding principal of an Oakland-based architecture firm focused on serving local non-profit developers. A certified Green Building Professional, Ms. Ballard Dias is also dedicated to implementing sustainable building principles as a standard for future development.

Hirendra Hindocha - Vice President 

CEO, Digital Nirvana
Mr. Hindocha is an entrepreneur and has served as CEO of Digital Nirvana, Inc. for the past eight years.  He holds a Masters in Computer and Information Science. Along with his strong  technology background, Mr. Hindocha brings a variety of skills in strategy, planning, administration and management.

Maribel Castaneda-Sargent - Secretary

AVP/Market Support Consultant, Wells Fargo
Ms. Castaneda-Sargent has been working for Wells Fargo since 1997, and currently supports 14 different locations in the East Bay. She is a graduate of Cal State East Bay, and has a B.A. in Business Administration with a minor in Human Resources. She has been involved in community service through Wells Fargo by volunteering at the Bay Area Rescue Mission, Berkeley Food and Housing Project, MedShare and Junior Achievement.

Dr. Teresa Yin - Treasurer

Dr. Yin has been operating her own chiropractic clinic in Fremont since 1999. She is a graduate of Mission San Jose High School and UCLA and has been actively involved in community service for over 10 years. She brings with her experience from Citizens for Better Community (CBC), Washington Hospital Healthcare Foundation, and SAVE.

Rohit Angle 

Sales Strategy & Operations Manager, Google
Mr. Angle has 15 years of experience in business, nonprofit, and organizational strategy with expertise in technology, digital marketing and social media, driving top-line growth and operational excellence for multi-billion dollar businesses. He holds a Master's Degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and has served with nonprofits in Boston, Washington D.C., and San Jose to promote child education and end homelessness.

Sameer Bhasin 

Marketing & Branding Strategist
Mr. Bhasin has been a marketing professional for over 15 years and is currently involved with social impact organizations to help build and improve their "value propositions." He holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Houston and enjoys supporting various other organizations in the Bay Area with his marketing, communications and branding experience.

Ann Danner 

Community Volunteer
Ms. Danner has supported the nonprofit sector in Santa Clara County full-time for more than 40 years. She has served as an Executive Director, Board member, consultant, advisor, planner, professional and volunteer fundraiser and donor to nonprofits of all sizes. In the process, she has developed a broad connection with many aspects of the South Bay community that she can leverage to assist Abode Services.

Douglas Ford 

Principal, Ford Associates
With more than 40 years of experience in the non-profit sector, Mr. Ford is a management consultant for Bay Area non-profits of all sizes, from start-ups to organizations with budgets over $10 million, focusing on board development, strategic planning, organizational assessment and fund development planning.

Rita Graziano

Executive leadership coach
Ms. Graziano has coached all levels of leadership, working with CEOs and other executives at client companies that include Cisco, Samsung, and NetApp, among others. She holds a Master's Degree from Santa Clara University and combines her passion for lifting leaders' capabilities with a library of best practice tools and strategies to support executives in making positive and sustainable changes. 

Teresa Powell

Executive Vice President, HOA & Deposit Services, Heritage Bank of Commerce
Ms. Powell brings extensive local and nonprofit banking expertise to our Board. Before joining Heritage, she was Executive Vice President of Community Banking for Focus Business Bank, where she oversaw the creation and growth of their HOA and nonprofit business lines. In addition to our Board, she is involved in community groups throughout the area, including West San Jose Kiwanis and Santa Clara Monterey Bay Council Boy Scouts of America.

Tejas Saraiya

Business Development Lead, Google
Mr. Saraiya leads enterprise technology partnerships for Android and Chrome at Google. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley. He has worked for 15 years in his field, specializing in business development, product management, marketing, and software engineering.

Ken Smith

Real Estate Agent and Office General Manager, Realty World One Alliance
Mr. Smith has been a licensed Realtor since 1999. He has served on numerous boards, including the Alameda County Housing and Community Development Advisory Committee, the Union Sanitary District, and many others.  He believes in getting involved in his community and serving his clients with any and all of their real estate needs.

Bryant Welch

Chief of Human Resources, Washington Hospital Healthcare System
A graduate of San Jose State University, Mr. Welch brings a broad base of Human Resources experience to the Board of Directors.  He has extensive experience in all facets of human resources and specializes in healthcare management.
