National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week
National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week 2015: November 14th to 22nd.
During this week, many joined us in raising awareness of hunger and homelessness in our community. We held the following events:
Candlelight Vigil honored members of our community who have passed away while homeless:
Sunday, November 15th
7 - 8 p.m.
St James' Episcopal Church
37051 Cabrillo Terrace in Fremont
"Feed Your Soul" night of music and poetry:
Thursday, November 19th
7 - 9 p.m.
Mission Coffee Roasting Company
151 Washington Blvd. in Fremont
There was no charge to attend either event - we collected canned goods at the door, and appreciate your donations.
We would like to thank St. James' Episcopal Church, Mission Coffee Roasting Company and Brask House Concerts for their help in hosting and organizing our #NHHAW events. Thanks also to everyone who participated.

Educate. Advocate. Let's end homelessness!
At our Candlelight Vigil on November 15th, St. James' Episcopal Church set out a "shelter" of cardboard boxes and sleeping bags, with each candle representing a person in Alalmeda County who passed away while homeless in the last year.

FEED YOUR SOUL
At our Feed Your Soul event on November 19th, Mission Coffee Roasting Company hosted a night of great musical performances held to raise awareness about homelessness. Brask House Concerts presented four musical groups -- Barry & Don, Eddie & Friends, Violissimo, and Two's Company -- who entertained the cafe audience.
