Journey Home Video Highlights Inspiring Stories of Abode Services Participants

March 4th, 2019

A Bay Area landlord who works to rehouse people in need and two Abode Services participants who have turned their lives around were each featured in our inspirational Journey Home Video, which was screened for hundreds of people at our recent annual breakfast.

The featured Abode participants — Chris and Jay — shared their individual comeback stories in the video, illustrating the key role that Abode Services played in their journeys from homelessness back to a home.

Chris has fought back from major injuries from a childhood car crash and bravely battled the challenges of being diagnosed as H.I.V.-positive. Now he has a full-time job again and a stable, secure home.

Jay suffered serious head injuries from a workplace accident that led to chronic homelessness. But he has since battled back. He has gained housing and another chance at continuing to improve his life.

Meanwhile, Anthony is a landlord who is devoted to helping formerly homeless people as an ongoing tribute to his brother who died from a bout with drug addiction.

The video first screened at our 14th annual Journey Home Breakfast fundraiser on March 1. It can be viewed again online at our website or on Vimeo

If you missed the fundraiser, there's still time to make a secure donation to Abode Services by clicking here. You can make that donation knowing we will put it to use right away to benefit members of our community.
