Legacy Giving

Many Abode Services supporters have included us in their will or trust. Their gifts - and yours, should you choose to join them - will strengthen our programs now and in the future.

Harriet Despeaux was a heartfelt and dedicated supporter of Abode Services for many years. She brought her commitment to ending homelessness to her role as a Board member, as a volunteer, and as a stakeholder in this organization.

To help ensure that Abode Services can continue providing services to those who need them most, Harriet left us a gift in her estate plan, truly cementing her legacy within Abode.

In her honor, we have established the Harriet Despeaux Legacy Circle, to recognize those donors who have included Abode Services in their will or trust.

We are especially grateful to you for a bequest, setting up a life income plan, or some other type of legacy gift. We’ll thank you for your commitment by inviting you to join our Harriet Despeaux Legacy Circle. We recognize Circle members in our publications, and with invitations to special events.

Your legacy gift to Abode Services will help us remain committed to ending homelessness for vulnerable adults and children in our community. The vast majority of legacy gifts are made by bequest through a will or trust.

There are also life income gifts that provide you a steady stream of revenue, offer significant tax advantage, and ultimately benefit us.

Many types of assets, in addition to cash, can be used to make a legacy gift. In addition, there are many types of legacy gifts you can easily make without incurring the services of your professional advisor. All you need to do is fill out your provider’s paperwork for the following gifts:

  • IRA or pension plan
  • Stocks and bonds
  • Checking account
  • Life insurance
  • Savings account

The Harriet Despeaux Legacy Circle acknowledges supporters who have made a legacy gift commitment to Abode Services. Gifts of all sizes are welcome and ensure that future generations will be able to access our services.
